Actually we didn’t fight southpaw but we did do a great boxing class. We just worked core mechanics to keep form, on the angle with chin down and heel up. Getting used to being hit without breaking your form is a key starting point and once you get used to it, you can start to build flow with slips, bobs and bounce backs. Once everything started to flow some good things started to happen. The trick is to keep sticking to it and slot it into your normal fight game. Lovely stuff. Same again next week.
Class is on as normal tonight, despite the tube strike. If you can make it, come for a bash. As Horatio in CSI would say…”We Never Close!”
Big thank you to everyone that came for the photoshoot last night. Especially to Carl Jackson who swapped his sticks for a camera and snapped more shots than he had memory for. We had a great time running through all areas of the syllabus while pretending to be Hollywood stars. Despite a lack of make-up staff the shots appeared to come out well. Grimaces, frowns, high hands and great form were aplenty as we battered away at each other to look fantastic under the lens. Wish we could look that good all the time!
A quick reminder that we will be having our photo shoot this coming Tuesday.
Remember to bring all your kit along and practice your best pain and grimace faces!
